From the foundations to the flat roof: progress is clearly visible on our building site
At our construction site, the project known as KZG is taking on an increasingly distinct shape. Several sections of the building are being constructed in parallel and are at different stages of construction. Whilst the roof of one section has already been waterproofed, the multi-storey structural shell is continuing to rise in another area. At the same time, the foundations for the next section of the building are being laid.
An important milestone: the first building section is largely enclosed
In the front section of the building, the masonry shell is already well advanced. The external walls are in place, and the window and door openings already give a clear indication of the future building structure.
In the coming construction phases, work here will include the installation of window and door units, further roof details, and façade and interior finishing work. Building services will also become increasingly important.
The multi-storey shell continues to take shape
At the rear of the construction site, work is progressing on another multi-storey section of the building. The masonry has already been completed up to the upper levels, so that the building’s future volume is becoming increasingly clear.
At the same time, the foundations for the next construction phase are being laid.
There is also a flurry of activity on the left-hand side of the photograph. Here, another section of the building is still at an earlier stage of construction. The reinforcement for the floor slab has already been laid over a large area. In addition, various installation, conduit and service pipes have been laid down.
This preparatory work is particularly important, as many of the service routes will later lie within or beneath the floor slab and could only be altered at a later stage at great expense. Once the inspections and approvals have been completed, the next step in the construction of the floor slab can begin.
Several construction phases overlap
The photograph clearly illustrates how closely the various tasks on a building site are interlinked. Structural work, roof waterproofing, technical preparations and foundation work are all taking place in parallel. Whilst one part of the building is already being prepared for the next phase of finishing works, the foundations for the next building section are being laid just a few metres away.
